🐱Psalm 103:4,8,10,15-19, Parallels: Isaiah 57:15-19, Ephesians 1:7
📖The Lord has compassion. This Psalm praises God’s goodness & His compassion for His stubborn & troubled children. Scripture reveals God’s work in our lives & His unconditional love for us. God created us & sent His Son to empathize with human struggles. Through Jesus’ sacrificial act, we find redemption, & our past sins are forgiven & forgotten when we turn to God.
💭Compassion. Our nature is self-centered, but God commands us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Unfortunately, our self-love often manifests selfishly, not reflecting Jesus’ selfless love for us. These passages remind me that we are called to love as Jesus loves us, extending kindness, understanding, & compassion without expecting anything in return. Sometimes you might not even get a “thank you”, but think of the times Jesus provided for you & you forgot to thank him! Jesus just keeps on loving! With the strength of the Holy Spirit I pray to transform my heart to mirror God’s compassion.
⁉️What does compassion mean to you? What practical ways can you share compassion & love to your neighbours? How can you actively seek those in need of compassion?
🙏🏻🐈Heavenly Father, our Redeemer! We praise You for Your compassion toward us. Your love erases our past, granting us a fresh start. Guide us on how to show Your love to others & to love ourselves as You see us. Fill us with a giving spirit & help us seek those who need Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
