🐱2Chronicles1 & 1 Chronicles 7 & Psalm 103
📖The Bible was written for a lifetime’s worth of reading & reflection. It isn’t always easy reading. 1 & 2 Chronicles are examples of books that are not always filled with the spiritual highs that we expect or desire when we study the Bible, but the importance of Chronicles cannot be overlooked. Through its genealogies & historical accounts it reminds us of the significance of looking back to learn & grow, understanding our heritage & the lessons we can take from the past. Chronicles begins with the origins of Adam & ends with Hope in God’s unfinished work. The original Hebrew verse, 2 Chronicles 36:23, ends with the phrase “let him go up,” an incomplete sentence leaving the future for God’s work to be written.
In parallel Psalm 103 emphasizes the importance of reflecting on the past & recognizing God’s graciousness, even in times of discipline & exile.
💭May went by fast! In my own month looking back through my journal writings, I can see where I let God lead & where I made the decisions. Remember, Review, Reflect
💗When home this trip, my little sister & I found such joy in reading old planners/calendars & even old Check Stubs from our parents in the 80s. My mom writing in the memo of one check: Christ Stuff. Standing in the kitchen with these books holding our parents’ handwritings, we shared our memories of our childhood with my nieces. These tangible writings of the past tell our story. Just like every book of the Bible.
